BBC 12 (2001: A Space Odyssey)

A while back, I re-created a graphic that featured in Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey. It was a very minor graphic in the film's cornucopia of special effects but I always liked it. My original version of the BBC 12 logo contained a couple of errors (including the typeface), so I thought it was time to update it.

Dr. Dave Bowman watches himself in an interview for BBC 12 in 2001: A Space Odyssey

I re-created it as vector graphic, then applied a vintage television/monitor screen effect, which I had produced specially for my Scarfolk project a few years ago.

Given the dimensions, I've always found that it works very well as smartphone wallpaper.

And just to be completist about it, here's the stock library music that plays over it and the subsequent invented programme, 'The World Tonight'. It's by Sidney Torch and is called "Off Beat Moods No.1"
